Mr. Kish

Principal

It is an honor to be the principal at the Burton Center for Arts and Technology (BCAT), a place of infinite possibilities! As a teacher and coach, my career has allowed me to instruct on a variety of topics and reach a wide array of students. I have also been honored to serve in a few different administrative roles around the Roanoke Valley. The 2024-25 school year will be my twenty-fourth year as an educator and my seventh year as the principal of BCAT - a special place full of talented students and staff.

Education is my passion and calling. I believe in the power it has to change the world. As educators, we must do all we can to challenge and assist our students to make progress by improving a little each day. If we are to create a better tomorrow, we must equip ourselves with the skills and knowledge required to invent what is necessary, innovate what needs improvement, and adapt to dynamic circumstances.

While I am proud to be from northeast Ohio and remain a life-long Cleveland and Ohio State sports fan, I love living here in the Roanoke Valley with my amazing wife and two wonderful, energetic sons. In my spare time I like to spend time with my family, play music and sing, watch sports, read, and write.

Assistant Principal

It is a privilege to serve as the Assistant Principal at Burton Center for Arts and Technology. I have been an educator for more than 20 years and am excited to be on this venture with you.

I am originally from West Virginia and have been in Roanoke since 1996. I love to ski, cook, practice yoga, and kayak. I look forward to coming to work every day and supporting each part of the Burton family.
