Dual Enrollment

Dual Enrollment 25-26

If you are interested in pursuing dual enrollment, below is a checklist of tasks to complete.  If you have questions, be sure to contact the Burton school counselor, Ms. Maggie Long: (mlong@rcps.us) . 

If you HAVE NOT taken a dual enrollment class before,

Apply/Register with Virginia Western Community College:
(NEW to VWCC only. Only complete if you do not have an EMPLID number at VWCC.)

 ****Currently, Placement tests are not required, we will look at grades and GPA for placement*****   

 

All BCAT Dual Enrollment Students MUST complete the following steps: 

1.       Complete BCAT 2025 Dual Student Data

2.       Complete Under 18 & Special Circumstances Forms 

a.  Under 18 Parent Signature Form

b. Special Circumstances     (9th & 10th graders ONLY)  

c. Dual Enrollment Governor's Scholar Program Form

New: Legislation has passed, and all Dual enrollment courses that are approved to complete the Passport Program and the Uniform Certificate of General Studies are free. To ensure your class remains at no cost, all students are required to complete the Dual Enrollment Governor’s Scholar Program Form. Price per credit hour for all other courses is $44.17.

3.       Submit Payment  (see chart for course cost)

a.       Option 1:  A check made out to BCAT for the exact amount. 

b.       Option 2:  Pay BCAT through https://roanokecounty.schoolcashonline.com/ 

   

ALL PAPERWORK must be returned by:   August 21, 2025 

Return all forms to BCAT or email   treeves@rcps.us 

PAYMENT (if applicable) due by: August 29, 2025

* Students must notify Maggie Long, School Counselor, if they wish to drop a Dual Enrollment course prior to the Virginia Western Drop Date (09/26/2025). Tuition will not be reimbursed after the drop date. Students may Withdraw from a course after the date but will receive a “W” on their VWCC Transcript to denote withdrawal. Withdrawal deadline: 11/21/2025.
