About the Program |
At the Burton Center, our Auto Service Technology program is designed just for you! Here, you’ll get a mix of cool car repair skills and real-world experience to kick-start your career in the automotive industry. You'll have the chance to earn Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certifications in ten different areas, which is like getting a gold star for your car repair skills. We also offer a special class that counts for college credit through Virginia Western Community College, so you’re already getting a head start on higher education while still in high school. You’ll use state guidelines and ASE test prep materials to guide your learning. In addition to hands-on car repair training, you’ll join Skills USA (formerly VICA), where you’ll develop leadership and professionalism. You’ll go through safety training, take part in professional development, and compete in exciting local and national competitions. Plus, you’ll be part of the Virginia Jobs for Graduates program and get ready for internships with local employers through the Virginia Registered Apprenticeship Program. And here’s the best part: your instructor is an ASE Certified Master Technician with 30 years of experience and has been teaching at Burton since 2010. You’ll be learning from the best! |
