
About the Program
Burton's Computer Information Technology program offers hands-on training and classroom lecture designed to help students pass the CompTIA A+ Technician Certification. The A+ Certification provides proof of mastery of basic computer and networking concepts to potential employers and colleges. Earning certifications can help students obtain in-demand jobs and can be a factor in salary and promotional considerations. Students planning to further their education by going to a two or four year college should consider taking advantage of our dual enrollment program where they can earn college credit.
CIT I – Essentials:
- The Essentials course starts out with the basics.
CIT II – Technician:
- The Technician course builds upon the foundation of Essentials, with a heavy emphasis in troubleshooting computer problems as well as PC maintenance and repair.
- Students will have the opportunity to earn the CompTIA A+ Certification at the end of this course.
Networking Concepts:
- The Networking Concepts course is available only to Juniors or Seniors. It delves into the intricacies of how computers communicate with each other.
- Students will have the opportunity to earn the CompTIA Network+ Certification at the end of this course.
